What they are

Thin shells of porcelain. A profound difference.

Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin, custom-shaped shells bonded to the front surface of your natural teeth. They're one of cosmetic dentistry's most refined tools — capable of correcting chips, gaps, discoloration, worn edges, and minor misalignment in a single, beautifully integrated treatment.

At Brookehavenv2, every set of veneers is designed by Dr. Scarlett in close conversation with you. We'll talk about the smiles you admire, the features you want to keep, and the small details — the way a tooth catches the light, the gentle curve along the lip line — that make a smile feel natural rather than manufactured.

Our porcelain is hand-layered by master ceramists to mimic the translucency, texture, and subtle color variation of healthy enamel. The result is a smile that looks deliberately cared for, never installed.

I wanted my smile to look like me — just the version of me I see in my head. Dr. Scarlett got it on the first try, and I cried a little when she handed me the mirror.

Why patients choose veneers

What porcelain can do.

Veneers are a versatile cosmetic solution because they address several concerns at once — color, shape, alignment, and proportion — with a single, conservative treatment.

01

Whiten beyond bleaching

For deep, intrinsic stains that don't respond to professional whitening, porcelain delivers a brighter, more uniform color that stays put.

02

Close gaps and refine shape

Subtle gaps, chipped edges, and uneven proportions are smoothed away with custom-shaped shells designed to fit your face.

03

Correct minor crowding

For small alignment issues, veneers can create the appearance of straighter teeth without the time commitment of orthodontics.

04

Resist staining

Porcelain doesn't absorb pigment the way enamel does, so coffee, wine, and time leave it largely untouched.

05

Preserve healthy enamel

Modern veneer techniques are minimally invasive — we remove only a whisper of enamel, preserving the strength of your natural teeth.

06

Last for decades

Properly cared for, porcelain veneers can deliver 15–20+ years of beautiful, confident smiles.

Veneers vs. Bonding

Choosing the right tool for the job.

Both veneers and cosmetic bonding can transform a smile — but they're suited to different goals, timelines, and budgets. Here's how Dr. Scarlett helps patients decide.

Cosmetic Bonding

Quick, conservative, reversible

  • Completed in a single visit
  • Tooth-colored composite resin
  • Typically 5–8 years of wear
  • Best for small chips and minor reshaping
  • More susceptible to staining over time
  • Lower investment per tooth
Your veneer journey

From first conversation to final reveal.

Veneers are a collaboration. Here's what to expect when you choose Brookehavenv2 to design your new smile.

  1. 01

    Smile design consultation

We start by listening. Bring photos, ideas, anything that speaks to you — and Dr. Scarlett will examine your teeth, gums, and bite to understand what's possible. We'll talk through shade, shape, length, and proportion until your vision is crystal clear.

  2. 02

    Digital previews & wax-ups

Before a single tooth is touched, you'll see a preview. We use digital smile design and a hand-sculpted wax mock-up so you can hold your future smile in front of a mirror — and refine it before we begin.

  3. 03

    Gentle preparation

At your prep appointment, Dr. Scarlett removes a whisper-thin layer of enamel — typically less than a millimeter — to make room for the porcelain. We take precise digital impressions and place beautifully crafted temporaries while your final veneers are made.

  4. 04

    Hand-layered by a master ceramist

Your veneers are crafted by hand at our trusted partner lab — layered, fired, and polished to mirror the translucency and texture of natural enamel. Each veneer is shaped specifically for the tooth it will rest on.

  5. 05

    The reveal

You'll come back for the bonding appointment, where we try in your veneers, fine-tune the fit, and bond them permanently in place. We'll take our time to make sure your bite, your color, and your smile are exactly right before you leave.

  6. 06

    Lifelong follow-up

Veneers ask for the same care as natural teeth — gentle brushing, flossing, and regular cleanings. We'll see you for a follow-up shortly after placement and at every hygiene visit thereafter to keep your smile in beautiful shape for decades.

How many veneers will I need?
It depends entirely on your goals and your smile. Some patients only need one or two veneers to address a chipped or discolored tooth. Others choose six, eight, or ten to refresh their entire smile. Dr. Scarlett will help you find the right number — never more than necessary.
Will veneers look natural?
Absolutely — that's the whole point. Our porcelain is hand-layered to capture the same translucency, texture, and subtle color variation as healthy enamel. We design veneers to flatter your face, not call attention to themselves. Most people will simply think you look well-rested.
Does the procedure hurt?
No. Most patients are surprised at how comfortable the process is. We use gentle local anesthetic during the prep appointment, and most people don't need it at all for the bonding visit. If you'd like sedation, we offer nitrous oxide and oral sedation as well.
How long do porcelain veneers last?
With good care, 15–20 years or more is a realistic expectation. The biggest factors are the same things that protect your natural teeth — daily brushing and flossing, regular hygiene visits, and avoiding habits like chewing ice or grinding without a nightguard.
Will I have to give up coffee or red wine?
Good news — porcelain doesn't stain the way enamel does, so a daily coffee or the occasional glass of wine is no problem. Just be mindful that the small amount of natural tooth visible at the gum line and the bonding edges can still pick up color over time.
How long is the whole process?
From your initial consultation to your final reveal, plan on three to five weeks. That includes design conversations, the prep appointment, time for the lab to hand-craft your veneers, and the bonding visit. You'll wear beautiful temporaries in the interim.
What's the difference between veneers and crowns?
Veneers cover only the front surface of a tooth and require minimal preparation — they're the right choice for cosmetic improvements on healthy teeth. Crowns wrap the entire tooth and are used when there's structural damage or significant decay. Dr. Scarlett will recommend whichever truly fits your situation.
Do veneers stain or discolor over time?
Porcelain itself is highly stain-resistant — far more so than natural enamel. The shade you choose at design will stay remarkably true throughout the life of the veneer. That's why we take great care choosing your color up front.
How much do porcelain veneers cost?
Pricing is per tooth and depends on the number of veneers, the complexity of the case, and the artistry involved. We give you a transparent quote at the consultation — and we offer in-house payment plans plus financing through CareCredit to make treatment fit your budget.
Will insurance cover veneers?
Most dental insurance considers veneers a cosmetic procedure and doesn't cover them. There are exceptions — if a veneer is restoring a fractured or severely damaged tooth, partial coverage may apply. Our team will gladly verify your benefits before you commit.
Can I see what my smile will look like first?
Yes — and we insist on it. Before any preparation begins, we'll show you a digital smile design and a hand-sculpted wax mock-up so you can preview your future smile in real life. Nothing is finalized until you're delighted with what you see.
What if a veneer chips or comes off?
It's rare, but if it happens, call us right away — keep the veneer in a safe place if you have it. Many can be re-bonded the same day. If a replacement is needed, we'll handle it quickly so your smile stays uninterrupted.
